BAG Films' Anurradha Prasad inducted into Indiantelevision Hall of Fame

MUMBAI: Anurradha Prasad, Chairperson cum Managing Director of B.A.G. Films and Media was inducted into the Indiantelevision.com Hall of Fame at the annual Indian Telly Awards held on 20 November in Mumbai. The award comes in as a recognition of her contribution to the media and entertainment industry.

Prasad started her career as a journalist in the Press Trust of India almost two decades ago. In 1993, she founded her own company B.A.G. Films and Media Ltd (formerly known as B.A.G Films Ltd) with the aim of creating television software of the highest quality in an environment that fostered creativity. Under her leadership, the organization went on to make landmark television programmes like Kumkum- Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan, Poll Khol, Haqeeqat, Red Alert, Zaike Ka Safar and Mitwa- Do Phool Kamal Ke. In 2007, Anurradha launched an umbrella brand Broadcast 24 under which she launched ‘News 24’; a 24-hour News channel that is today the fastest growing Hindi news channel in the country. In March 2008, under the same brand she launched India’s first Bollywood news channel E 24. Anurradha heads a successful radio network Dhamaal 24- a 24-hour radio network reaching out to listeners across the country at stations including Hissar, Karnal, Muzzafarpur, Patiala, Jalgaon, Dhule, Ahmednagar, Ranchi, Jabalpur and Shimla.

She also reaches out to aspiring media professionals with The International School of Media and Entertainment Studies (iSOMEs), a school dedicated to teach and train media professionals of tomorrow. She continues her stint of producing successful shows like Star Vivaah and Mitwa for Star Plus through her production house Studio 24.

Reacting to the honour, Prasad said ‘I dedicate this award to all my family, friends and colleagues who have shared the journey of B.A.G. Films thus far. With this recognition, I hope to achieve many more milestones and I thank Indian Television for bestowing this truly prestigious honour on me.’
