Savda Municipal council completes 129 years:
British empire established Savda municipal council in Jalgaon district is completing 129 years of its establishment today. Council was established in year 1883 during united Khandesh district and had Sardar Gangadhar Rao Deshmukh as its first publicly appointed president. This followed Nanasaheb Vishnu Hari Patil ruling the council for 33 consecutive years. Council was initially established by British under The Bombay District Municipal Act to enhance its revenue collection and divide loads of major cities Collectorate in administration. Council has witnessed 19 Presidents since formation till date.
