Cotton gets Rs. 6,999 rate:
Many private buyers begun their cotton buying yesterday with shining rate of Rs. 6,999 per quintal for good quality cotton in Chopda market. Dharangaon area had Rs. 4,150 per quintal rate for new cotton and Rs. 3,800 per quintal for older cotton. Last year farmers received around Rs. 5,500 per quintal rate and this dipped down to Rs. 2,500 to 3,000 band following ban on exports. Recent reopening of exports has eased this and boosted rates as well.
