JALGAON :-Ground water levels dip down in few Tahsil

Ground water levels dip down in few Tahsil:
The State ground water department recent survey has reported sharp decline in water levels in Bodwad, Chopda and Dharangaon tahsil. Bodwad water levels have fallen by 1.65 meter, Chopda by 0.84m and Dharangaon by 0.10 meters. This survey inputs and values are on base averages of last 5 years data for survey conducted every year in March. District had water shortages in around 150 villages and it has reported likely 168 villages in coming summer.
Jalgaon district has 66 irrigable zones and this includes 7 too developed, 2 developed, 17 partially developed and 40 zones as conserved ones having less than 40% water drifting. Jalgaon Taluka current water level is 1.41 meters wherein Amalner is on lowest with water 9.76meters below ground level.
